SingleSpeed Wheelset
I'm building a singlespeed to ride on bikepaths/around the neighborhood with the family. I have most all the parts and frame, but I'm trying to decide on the wheelset. I see a lot of "Deep Dish" singlespeed wheelsets online for aorund $150, but I can't see these being all that light or all that quality.
While I don't want junk or to break the bank, I also don't mind spending a few bucks for something of quality. Does something off-the-shelf exist in that range, or am I better off having something custom made? I'm fine with that, but I'm hoping someone has a decent lead on someone. Frameset is the typical SS 100mm front/120mm rear dropout. I did a search, but didn't find anything recent. Thanks. |
Velomine is the best place to source a wheel set

Velomine, pick sealed bearing hub for less maintenance

More than several hundred grams less and not a lot out of your price range........
I have these. Mine are black, I like them. Scrod tensions and trues all the machine built rims before they are shipped. I could find no fault with the set I have. |
Thanks for the input. $120 for a set of wheels is very decent. I was budgeting for more but certainly would not argue against spending less.
