best Pedels and Toes clips

Title says it all , looking for what you think is the best pedals and toe clips . I have looked on Amazon and not found much so I would love to hear your opinions. I don't want straps have tried both and prefer clips. Links to what you recommend would be great but not required thanks in advance ......

i dunno about the best, but i like my MKS GR-9 pedals with all-city toe clips

Have been using the Soma Hellyer pedals and cages over the last 6 months on my Paddy Wagon and have loved them very comfortable and smooth much better than my first set of Wellgos which just aren't as good or as expensive.

Toe clips are pretty much worthless w/o straps. The are designed to work together.

I don't use the straps.

These work great for me.

With the plastic ones you can cut off the part that holds the straps.

What's even the point of a half clip, just to keep your foot from sliding forward?

Sorry let me clarify , I want straps with my clips although open to ones without . What I meant by no straps is I don't want the straps without the toe clips like the big heavy straps you see sold with some of the new fixed bikes ....

This would be my choice MKS Urban or GR-10's Wellgo clips, double straps

the GR-10's are a third less than the Urbans unless you have really big feet they should be fine.

MKS probably makes the best pedals at the moment. Either the Custom Nuevo Keirin or the RX-1 Track.

Toe clips are simple. You want chrome steel. Aluminum breaks and plastic is garbage. The old Campagnolo steel clips are still the best I've ever seen. Decent copies are available from MKS, Cinelli, Pake, and others.

There are a lot of really bad toe straps out there, including nearly all the doubles. Avoid anything made out of plastic or nylon, and look for straps with a nonstretch laminate in between layers of leather. Binda Extras used to be the gold standard and are still excellent, but difficult to find and usually commanding collector's prices. The MKS Fit Alpha Sport are very good (not the regular Fit Alpha, only the Sport), and Cinellis can also sometimes be found for a relatively low price. Toshis work too. The best strap I have encountered is the Kashimax Five Gold.

Solid man thank you for the tips very in depth and will look into all of them ....

I personally love MKS GR-9 pedals, with the MKS toe clips that are built for double straps and my MKS double straps. Had to get some longer bolts to keep the double strap in place properly since the GR-9 isnt set up for double straps.

FWIW, all of what I wrote matters only if you are using proper cycling shoes with cleats. If you are not, then it barely matters what kind of pedals/clips/straps you are using.

For what it's really worth he's referring to slotted cleats, not spd or spd-sl, just so OP isn't confused.
