Nitto Bars
 

Please excuse my ignorance (and cheesy word play), but what's so neat-o about the nitto bullhorns? I see a lot of them around and am still tinkering with my new bike. It never really occured to me to put anything but drop bars on it, but I'm curious about the appeal of these. They definitely look hot, but how do they feel and function?

And by the way: hi. I just discovered this forum and I've never posted on here before but am quickly developing a late-night addiction and seeing gleaming track bikes everytime I close my eyes. . .

I use hacksaw bullhorns.For me they just give me a feeling of control in alot of stop and start riding around town. It's also a different seating angle. If you have a pair of road bars you don't care about just cut them off and give it a try.

I have Profile ram horns and to me it feels like riding on the hoods of your drop bar or riding with flat bars. Kind of an in-between option. I haven't done any long distance with this style bar though.

I like my Nitto's a lot. The horn extensions act as a lever and get you out in front of the bike for easier stopping. My bull horns have some drop too them but sometimes for sprinting I wish I had drops. For urban commuting I like the bull horns but If I was on a track I would probably prefer the drops.

Not just Nittos, but bullhorns of any kind on a city track bike makes sense. Considering a big part of skidding and standing is being forward over the front wheel, bullhorn bars allow for that.

I like them for accerleration too. They're stiff as can be, and very comfortable throughout the day. They offer a few hand positions too. If it helps any, I'm riding Profile airwings, and I'd suggest them to anyone.

I use road bars flipped over and cut as my bullhorns. I am trying to find an old pinarello track frame to build my dream bike with and I plan on puting some nitto track drops on it because it looks sweeter. I'm not worried a whole lot about the function.

Bullhorns are definetly my choice for road riding. I can get right over my front tire and get a good hard skid with them.
