what the fark?

Hello there. Curious about something. I ride the high plains of Wyoming. And frankly, out here the odds are significantly greater of getting doored by an antelope or coyote than a taxi. I certainly enjoy all the pictures and thank everyone for those. But I can't figure out all the slips of paper in the spokes. Are they adverts people jam in there? A secret society code? Bits of baseball cards for a vroom vroom sound? Porno? What are you people onto out there? Thanks for any input.

Your pal, the pope.

search the forum for 'spoke cards', there are a couple of threads about 'em.
short version: you get 'em at races, or make 'em yourself.

Racer boy wannabe's put them in there. I once had an air freshener for the benefit of anyone who might be drafting moi.

great idea! next race should use air fresheners as spoke cards. plus, prizes should be deoderant and soap and cologne and stuff --things messengers need, even if they don't know it.

I've been lurking here for a while, but I finally found something to post about...

What you need to keep those coyotes away is a TurboSpoke...

The Spinners for bikes are way better, but I don't know the link.

Ignatius J. Reilly would've bolted the turbospoke on his hotdog cart. (And how old is that guy in the photo on the front of the site?)

Right you are, Ken.

Alleycat cat races and messenger races use them as number plates.

Ignatius J. Reilly would've had his mother bolt the turbospoke on his hotdog cart.

Of fill it with wine.

Now Myrna Minkoff would know how to use it.
