Suntour Swing Shock

Hello all,

I was wandering through Eric's the other day when I came across this thing. I thought it looked kinda interesting so I asked the guy. He said he'd never tried it before but if I wanted a fork upgrade (which I don't) then I should look into something carbon or aluminum. I'm still interested so I just thought I'd ask you guys. I mean, maybe if I have an extra $200 lying around then I might think about it but I doubt that I'll invest in this thing. It looks like more of a cyclocross or even a road bike thing to me. I mean if anything, then I would throw it on my Bianchi. So what do you guys think? Is this thing really worth the cash?

Looks like some weird modernized version of the suspension forks that Roubaix racers used to use. I imagine it's not very popular for a reason.

It reminds me of the Softride stems

Amp Reasearch Made a MTB fork that looks similar, but thats about it.The Amp had more pivots and longer travel.

If you want to nerd out pretty hard on old bike stuff Tears for Gears is a good spot to do it.

I have a Girvin Flexstem and it is fun and goofy to ride with. When the handlebars give way over bumps it feels like you are losing control or about to endo. Very silly.

And, let's not exclude the Bianchi full suspension purpose-built Roubaix bike:
