Best Crankset for the $

Looking for a good, solid crankset. Need the ratio to be around 2.8. (For example, 44:16, 42:15)

Been looking at THIS crankset, but I'm not sure about the quality.

Remember, I'm on a budget. Already investing waaaayy too much in a WI rear hub and cog...

I got this:

I have no complaints and a lot of people here told me that was good for the money when I got it

I saw that one, but I'm still looking for something a little more economical. I was also thinking about THIS, but it needs to be silver or else my bike will look crummy.

Anyone know if this one is good or not?

I had had a FSA Vero that came stock on my scwhinn madison, It never gave me any trouble. I gave it to my friend a year and a half ago for his se draft and he's still using it.

How about this one? I like it the best so far.

All about the same quality.

I used this for a couple of years with no issues:

On my 83 Trek, I bought some Shimano 600 cranks for $30 on ebay, added chainring and BB. It was around $80 total and I've been happy with it.

I use shimano 600ex, i would also choose that over a sugino rd any day

They are all more than good enough, unless you are an elite track racer.

The Andels are awesome for the money.

Spending almost $300 on your rear hub, but skimping out on your crankset seems silly to me.

Thiiiis.

Also, SRAM S300's are pretty good bang for your buck. They can be found relatively cheap with some clever searching.

I'm not sure where you're coming up with $300 for the hub. Try half

You still get the message regardless of Jay's number.
