MMMMMMMMM I think I want wanna those. I'm considering giving my wallet a break from servicing my Tallboy's linkages and riding a hardtail this winter. Those might just be too good lookin' to resist...

the biggest reason was tire clearance. other reasons include nicer steel (tange prestige), taller headtube, and I prefer the paragon sliding dropouts over that wonky dropout that surly put on the straggler. I've got 1,001 miles on it now and this is as close to a perfect bike as I've ever had.

Retaped the bars on my Matrix Rafale Pyro carbon geared road bike. The original Easton Microfiber tape my lbs used when they built the bike didn't last even a year before it became a disintegrating mess. I've had some nice Salsa Gel Cork tape lying around for several months, but just now got around to using it. I've been taping my bars top down lately to eliminate all the ugly electrical tape near the stem, and it looks much better IMO. The bar plugs supplied by Salsa are really cheap, so I use old ones from some Arundel tape I had removed. I couldn't resist one gratuitous max speed pic from today's ride.

I agree. It's the tape that came on my Salsa Colossal, and after over two years it still looks like new. Very easy to wrap and very comfy.

I've really been digging newbaums lately. I don't even shellac it. once you become accustomed to the lack of padding, it's actually pretty comfy. cheap too and lots of color options

I have cotton tape (Newbaums on my Cilo and probably Velox on my Langster) and it is great. I mean I love the Lizard Skins 3.2 DSP tape on the Disc Trucker but the natural cotton feel is pretty nice especially with a nice set of bars or just for the look on a classic bike.

Carleton recommended Specialized Roubaix tape a couple years ago, and now its the only thing I run, save for a roll of like new lizardskins I saved from my friends trash can.

since noone on the interwebz seems to want to give you this info:
Carradice Bagman QR Expedition (there is a smaller sport) :
the rack itself measures 21cm from the attachment rail to the bottom (height)
then the bottom portion it sits on from that rail is 13cm, where it then kicks up at an angle for another 7cm (depth) - it cradles this bag perfectly
its 18cm at its widest point (width), but its largely irrelevant

I think I've mentioned here before that I have an old slightly differently designed clamp-on hangy jawn? Am pretty sure it's the Bagman sport. I'm curious - did yours come with a couple of supports that run to the seatstays? Mine did but I never used them and to be candid, probably should have. Thanks to occasional overloading...my Bagman has sagged a bit over the years. Got it rebent a little and still works fine.
Good luck & enjoy yours...

it seems to be called the "bagman 2", its not on the carradice site and wiggle shows it no longer available, though they sell a seatpost clamp with a hole to mount those rails to
mine does not, but not gonna lie, i kinda want them.

Yep, those jawns...
Mine doesn't have the QR, but otherwise looks the same. Bagman 2, hmmm? Learned something today. Also looks like current Bagmen(?) don't even have the plate those jawns clamp to (which I run my straps through), maybe they are made from stronger tubing now & don't need extra support.
