Once I finish painting, this will likely be my daily rider:

No. My post/pin is not available either. I have grown to appreciate American Classic posts. They are quite light. This bike weighs in at under 22 lbs as pictured. Not bad for a steel bike in 60 cm size.
@50voltphantom - I have one in black too. Brooks have been my go to saddle. The Flite was only good for about 30 miles when I first tried one out. The brooks does not have a limit that I know of. I have broken my bottom end in to the Flite over the last 1200 miles and don't really notice it any more. I also have a white Concor. It is on my tandem. Not as comfortable either.

Haven't ridden this in about a year, since the Pinarello purchase. I have been thinking about taking it out on a nice ride. Since it has Tubulars, it performs really well. I guess you could say that I am thinking about saddling up for a geared up ride.

Referring to one's own saddle as a saddle just isn't good enough.
Being proactive and correcting those who refer to them as seats is a step in the right direction toward solving this horrible problem. He is demonstrating a desire and willingness to help the weak and uneducated. I salute him.

My commuter. Built it to work for me, but some of my chioces drive some purists crazy. Got her done in July, I believe, and I am commuting 2days per week. Each of the choices has worked out great.

So, I have not understood, from a practical sense, what does not make sense to others. But, luckily, we live in a "free" country.

Sheldon Brown:
"You'll notice that I do call them "saddles," not "seats." There is a reason for this. A "seat" is something you sit on, and is designed to bear essentially your entire weight. Recumbent bicycles have "seats," but conventional upright bicycles have saddles. A saddle is intended to carry some, but not all of your weight. The rest of your weight is mainly carried by your legs, and some by your hands and arms."

Dude I love this bike. Honestly the only thing I would change is the handlebars for some flat bars, but that's just me. Looks like a really fun commuter!

Doesn't make sense to me because in my mind "commuter" is equal to or close to "beater."
Then you go and post pics of a carbon frame with super nice carbon wheels on it and I'm just like **********?
Looks like it's a sweet ride, but I just think classifying it as a commuter is what's throwing me off.

The apparatus itself could cost $100, $1,000, or $10,000, yet would still fall within that definition.

People have this mindset that a commuter bike has to be something like this:

You don't have to have any of that to have a commuter bike. I use either my fixed gear track bike, carbon geared road bike, or SS mountain bike. No fenders, no racks, no mounts, no bags, and everything on the bike is kept to a minimum. I am not carrying my life around with me or hauling a bunch of stuff. I am riding to work and home.
