i concur with this, but im not sure which would be best, elite SS? king iris cage? i feel like it has to be metal but thats pretty limiting
@Muffin Man - looks really great with the new crank, and pics are fine, much better than a lot of the ones in the HrN threads

I actually sold my 4 arm cranks already, so I'm only out the $550 I spent on the pedals after gas money.

Doesn't make sense to me because in my mind "commuter" is equal to or close to "beater."
Then you go and post pics of a carbon frame with super nice carbon wheels on it and I'm just like **********?
Looks like it's a sweet ride, but I just think classifying it as a commuter is what's throwing me off.

But, I get where you are coming from.
if it helps at all, it is my trip bike in the summer and on weekends.

Swear I spent a good minute or two staring at that Dean. Such a clean classy looking bike. Wish more road bikes today had level top tubes and the same minimalist approach to stickers/graphics...that Dean stands out because it's so elegant/simple.

Thanks!
Yeah I really dig it too. The only thing I would change is a 1 1/8 head tube so I don't have to use an adapter, and can use a much lighter fork.

I would not lose sleep over this. Your bike is so ace right now. Those pink hubs make the bike and the new Chorus cranks look fantastic.

Oh not at all, the head tube is basically the only thing holding it back from being my perfect bike. I absolutely love this thing as is though.

650b'd and rando-ized my Ti road bike last week, and took it on all the dirt this weekend. Bottom bracket height dropped more than I hoped and had a few buttclinching pedal strikes, but other than that was awesome. Running 172.5 cranks, hoping that switching to 165's will mostly fix that problem.

Haha yeah, I call it my fred bike actually. And I have 165's on my fixed gear and MTB and prefer them after trying 170's, so I don't see why it'd be any different on a mixed terrain roadish bike. I'm pretty short, and they are more comfortable to me.

Thanks! It's 25mm... almost too much for me, came with the bike (got a sweet deal off CL on it mostly complete). It does look pretty cool though, and works -- been trying to trade it for a similar zero setback post whenever I see them pop up, but haven't had any biters yet. Will probably just keep it like this. Still trying to figure out tires, the first two 38mm tires I tried rubbed in the rear, but I can fit a 42mm up front no problem.

Yeah, with zero setback I'd be in the same position but reversed too, slammed almost all the way back on it. I kinda prefer how it looks this way. Would love to find a 10-15mm setback Ti post, not sure if it even exists.
