Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Looks fun though!

Whenever I ride, I always make sure to ring my bell at riders on tandems

That one. The Little Wing. I have a build planned that will, ultimately, see a surprising amount of my money going into @Scrodzilla's bank account.

The challenging bit will be fitting the titanium seat mast, and all the crabon bits. I figure I'll own a (bicycle) torque wrench when I'm done.

I must admit that one thing I didn't like about that frame was the fancy seat mast. I prefer keeping things simple and like a regular round seat tube and seatpost. That was one of the reasons I bought the Wraith instead, although I would have liked a ti frame. And yeah, most of my FG money has gone to the RG coffer.

Wraith's offering comes in small, large, and largest. :/ I'm actually kinda eager to finally have an excuse to order from RG. He doesn't carry the gearie stuff I sometimes need for my Surly (primary commuter vehicle)

I've been dealing with Scrod since his shop was known as Bikeage and would probably not be so heavily into FG were it not for them. They are the best people on the planet to deal with and will bend over backwards to fix any snafus. You need to get one of their new kits to go with that bad boy.

Over the years the Zilla's have gotten me more off the menu weirdo **** with gears than track bike stuff. Shoot them an email and they can probably get you what you need at a curiously low price

I bought most of the parts for this ****in thing from them and that sure as **** isn't something you can just walk in and buy. Dave built those monstrous wheels too which were just delightful

Scored 4 rolls of Fizik bartape at the swap meet for $10 a pop.

Recently scored Dura-Ace 11 speed shifters and RD for the Merckx.

Also got the following from the LBS:

All-City Cloak of Invincibility

All-City Sleddin' Cap

YNOT Neo backpack

Both of my bikes are on the medium to smaller side--my ss Kona Unit is a 17 and my ss Cross Check is a 52cm. I wanted to get some bikepacking bags for short 1-3 day trips that would fit both bikes (which initially seemed challenging). I ended up with a Revelate Designs Pika saddle bag(fits WAY more cargo than I expected!), and a Banjo Brothers small frame bag. Many other stock frame bags would be a trick to fit into the Unit's triangle in particular, but this one fits like a charm, still with room for a water bottle (room for two bottles on the Cross Check). Both great bags, plenty of capacity for short trips with just these two, fits both bikes--win-win-win

Curious how you like the Banjo... I have one and just couldn't get used to riding with a frame pack.
