Just started training for a century with 7500 ft of elevation gain and decent I got the upgrade bug again:

Serfas Zirconium Carbon soled shoes

Look Keo Blade 2

Carbon bars with integrated stem

I still need to buy some hoods but am undecided on which. I descended the 4500 elevation version of the ride 2 years ago with a cross lever and won't do that again.

Good luck with the ride, sounds tough. which bike are you using?

Have you used SPD-SL and if so, do you like the LOOK KEO better?

I'm riding my fixed BMC. Did one of the middle climbs Sunday and didn't have any issues other than I need to start stretching my legs and possibly replace the low end chainring on the inside. Hadn't used it before and it doesn't seem to have a great tooth profile. Kinda holds onto the chain pretty tight.

Been using old Dura Ace pedals for about 2 years, I think those are SPD-SL. I haven't tried Look Keo before so we'll see if I like them. Read lots of reports of lose fitting cleat interface and squeaks. I picked up a set of actual look cleats and a set of exustar which some people said fit better.

Set of Magura Evolutions w/ upgraded TWP lever set, and some badass carbon fiber brake boosters. They need to be bled, but they're getting fresh lines.

Well, it's first going to get torn down and all its parts will be transferred to the Cretin, and then the Vilano will get torn down and those parts will get transferred to the naranja. All of the parts currently on the naranja are upgraded changes and many of the parts on the Vilano were originally on the naranja or are comparable quality. The Vilano will be stripped of any other usable parts such as the BB, and then placed at the curb for scavengers to dispose of it.

My Kask Mojito finally arrived. I think it's a pretty nice looking helmet. Not too mushroomy looking. Fits nice and is real light.

Also funny that you mentioned that because I did just replace it for her.
