Green bar tape?
1 Attachment(s)
In short, I'm looking for green bar tape. Google'd and Froogle'd it, but the closest I found was some sort of aqua. Anyone have any suggestions or leads for some forest green tape? Or ideas on painting white tape?
See, I'm going for this whole red and green theme on my new [to me] Schwinn-approved Traveller III conversion, appropriately named Knievel, as it's almost killed and/or maimed me a few times in the couple of weeks I've been riding him. And don't worry about any holiday mix-ups; I'm going to paint a little picture somewhere on him so everyone knows where I'm coming from. Thanks and happy riding. |
though it can be hard to find, i know deda tape comes in a very bright, vibrant green. i bought a roll at a shop in portland when i visited because it was the first time i'd found really nice green bar tape. then i wound up giving it to a friend to finish off the 'rasta' color scheme on his bike.

Thanks for the link. I'm gonna give a few of LBS's a call in the morn and see what they have.
Any other leads? |
Jitensha Studio has some pretty nice cotton tape.

Does it have to be cork? Loosescrews have some hip/tacky/retro benotto plastic stuff (those italians are so stylish) here. http://www.loosescrews.com/index.cgi...d=614303812900

Thanks for the links. I'm leaning towards the Deda tape, just because it's cork and there are way too many new potholes/cracks everyday around here to go with that oh-so-pretty Cello tape. I'll post pics when the bike looks respectable.

I have Cinelli green tape on my beater.

Best, prettiest way: wrap the bar in any cork tape, then wrap it once more with a green cotton tape. I have a beautiful forest green tape on my singlespeed. I just put green cotton tape on it, and then shellacked it a few times. It will last much longer that way, and you have that nice cushy cork underneath. You can order cotton tape in green from a bunch of places, Jitensha and Rivendell among others. People can't get over how nice the dark green tape looks. |
Complete aside but someone has lovely green campy toe clips on ebay right now. Kind of pricey but a beautiful colour.
Search for "Kelly green toe clips". May go well with your rasta bike. Never seen 'em before. |
They have a set of NOS green campy nuevo record pedals in the case at american right now, they want like $200 for them though...
