Looking for an entry level fixed gear
I've been researching around and at first I was looking at the takara bikes, however I did some research and found that they were a pretty big waste of money.
Recently I've been looking at bikesdirect.com at their fixies and I would like to know what your advice is
the gravity swift track bike

the windsor the hour bike
Track Bkes | SingleSpeed Bikes | Fixie | Windsor Bikes - The Hour | Save up to 60% off Fixed gear and singlespeed bicycles
the dawes sst steel
Save Up to 60% Off Road Bikes | Track Bikes | Fixed Gear | Single Speed Bicycles | Dawes SST singlespeed bicycles | Save up to 60% off list prices
the motobecane fixie
Save Up To 60% Off Fixie Track Bikes | Track Bikes | Fixie Gear | Single Speed Bicycles | Motobecane singlespeed bicycles | Save up to 60% off list prices

the dawes street fighter
Save Up to 60% Off Flat Bar Road Bikes | Track Bikes | Fixed Gear | Single Speed Bicycles | Dawes SST singlespeed bicycles | Save up to 60% off list prices
_________
those are the bikes I am currently looking at however another bikes that are in the 100-300 dollar range that I should consider will also be appreciated.
I haven't made my decision so any advice would be much appreciated.
My needs for the bike are to be the primary transportation of a dorm college student (while also being fun because i really enjoy cycling)
Thank you!

If your budget is up to 300 - The Windsor or Dawes will be good bikes. Don't spend more than budgeted because of internet hype. You'd be surprised at the number of people riding cheap bikes and being perfectly content with them. Not saying they are "better" just that these fit in your budget and are suitable bikes to be ridden for your intended purpose.

Yeah, honestly the Windor The Hour plus with 2 brakes and levers is a good deal at $300. I don't own any of these bikes but knowing what I know now, if I was buying my first fixie and I only had $300 I would have got the Hour. The Kilo has a Reynolds 520 frame which is slightly nicer than the Hour and the components are a little better. But they are both decent frames and you can upgrade components later on

It's hard to beat the Kilo TT. However, if you just want to save some bucks, get either the Nashbar Bull or Arygle Single Speed. If you don't mind the extra weight, they'll each make great "entry level" single speeds.
They're both made of "hi-tensile" steel, instead of the more favored "chromoly" steel.
