hmmmm....

I dont mind the covers, as noted, they serve as speed bumps which while I may not like them, I dont necessarily see them as a bad thing. What I have much bigger issue with is the jackpole who poured the concrete on the bike path on the brooklyn downhill section. On an aluminum langster, Ive never had my body shaken as much as flying down that section of the bridge. Id take a smooth path with a bump in it over that nonsense anyday.

HexagonSun: 32% of survey respondants said that sometimes the bumps cause them to avoid using the Williamsburg brigde cyclist/pedestrian path. For example, Bill usually rides to work over the Williamsburg bridge, but riding over the bumps has given him a terrible sprained wrist. While his wrist heals, he uses the less conveniently located Manhattan bridge because the bumps on the WBB aggravate his condition.

Neptunetitan: You're right about the brooklyn-side path. It's bad too. The WBB pedestrian/cyclist path was poorly planned. We're focusing on getting the bumps removed because they're more dangerous, with 23% of bridge path users crashing or tripping and falling because of them. Hopefully, when that's accomplished, we can move on to improving the rest of the path.

i understood that this was most likely the case, however i just thought i would be a ****** and have some fun with the idea that the 32% they interviewed crossing the bridge, avoided crossing the bridge.

has anyone else noticed the ridiculous signs posted on the bridge in the last two days? they're absolutely inane - they picture a pathetic diagram of how to ride the bumps on the bridge... as if that was our problem with them. seems to me like a crappy 'legal disclaimer' to prevent any more lawsuits.

what a pile o' dookie.

i think that this would make sense. when you think about it there are something like 2 turnstile staff per small station, more in the bigger ones. then youve gotta hire people to go down and refill the ticket machines and take the cash out and do all that other stuff. ive neva thought about it like that before

i'd like to see those signs, but i avoid the WB like the plague (because of those stupid bumps, of course).
