Availability of Kilo WT?

How often do these get back in stock? Will I have to wait til the fall? I can't decide between this one and the motobecane fantom cross uno for commuting, but the uno is in stock, so...

Send them an email. If you're indecisive, I've seen the WT in person. It's a beautiful bike. That being said I think the Motobecane is a better option cause of the cantilever brakes and fender/ rack options. As a true commuter bike it will have more flexibility. Just my opinion

Except Fantom Cross Uno has 38/16 gear ratio which won't work for most people so you would have to address that right away

It's rumored that the Kilo TT will be totally restocked by June 2014.

Perhaps the WT will follow suit...

Doesn't the wt have eyelets for racks/fenders and wouldn't it be faster? Or would the extra weight cause it to be slower or just as slow? I'm not sure on the rack yet, but I am for sure on the fenders.

I'm only hesitant b/c the kilo might be a better fit. The fantom uno has a pretty high standover height for me. I tried the crosscheck in 54 and it was close but there was still room to bring the bike up and down, but the fantom has an extra .7 inches.

And i actually really like the kilo wt, plus i could run it fixed which would be extra work on the uno.

Does the pizza shop up the road deliver? If only there were a way to contact them directly. That would be great!

The Kilo WT has plenty of room for wide tires, fenders and a rack. I have a 700x32c tire in front and a 700x35c tire in the rear. I'm very satisfied with mine, and run it both as a SS and a FG.

Have you considered a Steam Roller? I know its out of the price range when considering the price of the Kilo/Uno but whatever, its sexy.

Although you may find some shops with older stock on hand, the Surly Steamroller is no longer available as a complete bike.

I noticed that when browsing their site. Happen to know of any sweet deals on the frame? I'm looking for one.

I read that it was difficult to put rack/fenders on (i can do w/out the rack, but fenders are a must), so the SR is out. I'd consider the cross check or nature boy, but I'm leaning towards the cheaper BD options.

Well, full fenders can be installed on the SR with P-clips on the fork legs and seat stays, but it's less convenient than using the threaded eyelets and bosses on the Kilo WT. A rear rack is pretty much not possible, unless you intend to carry less than a 10 lb load on it. The same could be said of framesets like the All-City Big Block, which have clearances for wide tires, but a lack of mounts for accessories like fenders and a rack. I'd still hold off and wait for the Kilo WT to be back in stock as the best solution for your situation.

So I can put rear rack on the wt? And would you recommend the wt as a commuter over the uno? I'm guessing it will be faster and more meant for the road. Also, I prefer a slightly lower gear- less resistance but I don't mind pedaling a little faster for that aerobic workout.

Look at my photo in the previous post no. 8. As you can see, I've got a rear rack mounted on it. Also, you can mount low rider racks on the front fork as well. The Kilo WT makes a great commuter bike, and you can replace the stock 16T freewheel with something lower for less than $30. The handling is crisp but the ride is not harsh.
