two questions
hey, i have two questions.
one: any suggestions on semi-affordable rims and a front hi flange hub? trying to build a new wheel set and im running in circles. also if the rims come in white or grey thats bonus. two: any way to ensure chain tension on semi vertical (pretty long) road drop outs? or about how much is it to put track drops on a bike? |
1. irocycle.com
2. sounds like the frame is a go.. as long as there is some room for the wheel to move.. look up campy 1010b on image google.. does it look like that? then yer golden |
Hubs - I second irocycle.
Rims - found Mavic OP on pricepoint for $45. Dropouts - it might work as is. I think an ENO eccentric hub could be cheaper than replacing the dropouts. |
AS long as your dropouts look anything like these, then you're golden. To adjust chain tension, you just pull the wheel forward/back in the dropout, the same as with true track ends.

my drops look like the bottom one. i had perfect chain tension the other week, and then i replaced the tires and i just can't get it right again. also i'd be ordering the rims and hub at costof shop, so i'm looking more for a reliable rim thats not outrageous. how are the deep v's a see a lot of people riding? anyone have any personal expeirience? they are awful purty...
