I swore I had one....then I looked down to see it blow away on my ride today...so I chase it down and try to insert it back into my spokes. It fell right back out. Now, being the brainiac that I am, I noticed two absurdly loose spokes...should I just tighten these myself or does tension and all that matter so much I should take it in to the LBS? My bike feels naked without my card from William Karsten on it.....

If you have two spokes loose, your wheel is probably noticably out of true. Give it a spin and see if it wobbles back and forth. After you do this, give the spokes a squeeze with your hands and see if any others seem noticably loose. They should feel pretty tight. Just a tiny amount of bend to them.

Take your spoke wrench and tighten those two spokes (and any others you find that are loose). It really isn't hard. Try to get them to the same tightness as the rest of your spokes. You can gauge tension by squeezing the spokes or by tapping on them a screw driver (or something similar) and comparing the pitch they give off. The pitch should be similar.

After you get them close to the same pitch, give the wheel a spin and see if it still wobbles. If it does, work on it a bit more. Truing is pretty straight forward if you take your time. If you mess it up, take it to the LBS. It's pretty hard to completely ***up a wheel when your truing it. Have fun!

two are super loose, a few of the other are slightly loose, this all happen in about a week or so...thanks for being the only person to care tonight labratt

Are these new wheels? Seems odd that you would have several spokes loosen in just a week.

Start with the loosest spokes and work from there. Take it nice and slow. Once you get the spokes fairly close to tension, turn the spoke wrench just a quarter turn or less each time.

It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it and if you mess it up, just drop it by the LBS.
