Rear brake cable stops for frame that doesn't have them?
Anyone use these Origin8 parts or anything else good:
Origin8 Clamp-On Frame Cable Stop, Double, 28.6mm Silver:Amazon:Sports & Outdoors
The Orgin8 seem to have good reviews and are $10

I think that is meant to be used on a down tube for shifter cables, not on a top tube for a brake cable. Also, it will only work if your top tube is 28.6mm outer diameter.

Assuming TT's correct, this is more along the lines of what you need: Universal Cycles -- All-City Cable Housing Clamps

Do you want cable housing stops or clamps ? A zip tie serves as a clamp, not a stop. Stops allow you to run open cable between the stops and clamps are used when the housing is continuous from the brake lever to the brake caliper.

Is there a difference in performance and reliability? Since most bikes designed for rear brakes have stops with exposed cable, I assume that is the better option. That is what I was looking for. If I'm just going to run the continuous housing I assume zip ties are fine other then aesthetics.

I have Origin 8 brake cable stops on my Steamroller. They make what you're looking for and work fine.

There will be an unnoticeable decrease in cable drag and if your calipers have QR then you can clean/lube your cable without undoing the cable anchor. Neither one of those would be enough to convince me to run clamp-on stops instead of full-length housing run with two or 3 housing clips on the TT.
