7 - 10 years is not enough, 15 - 20 should be a good range.

your story could be my story, or anyone else in here. i feel so bad for what happened to you and feel afraid that it could be anyone else at anytime; could easily be me. each day, each moment is precious and I'm working on being thankful and appreciative. i read your story and think about it, feel the sadness, try to learn something. it’s not the money or the driver or the rage, it’s the vulnerability. Your story makes me feel so sad and vulnerable; the fragility of human flesh and bone at 30mph tackled by asphalt, concrete or steel. I hope you find a path to transcend your pain. For me, on the bike, mostly late at night, I’ll think of you, whispering the mantra repeatedly, get home safely, get home safely. Peace

Please take the time to write, fax or call the Marin County District Attorney and urge him to not let this man get away with such an intentional violent act.

This thread below has a good draft that you can copy and paste.
https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...8&page=3&pp=25

Here's a pic that I saw a while ago on oldskooltrack.com

Good luck Torrin!

yes. troll. plonk, plonk.

and that article is depressing - trivializing serious injuries and lending more importance to hearsay, rather than facts, adds up to a very skewed article.

Torrin is a good guy who didn't deserve to be assaulted like he was by that *sshole driver. To top it off, the driver won't even take responsibility for what he did to someone out of anger. Oooh, he got flipped off, big deal, that's no reason to run someone off the road.

It's a sad day when jerks assault the character of an all-around good guy like Torrin. I hope justice turns out to be just in this case.

No sarcasm intended. The way this all went down really makes me unhappy with the state of humanity sometimes.

speedy recovery Torrin.

That article reads like every aggressive-motorist-apologist argument I have ever heard. And it sounds like the guy is using his family connections to work the system in his favor. I hope they lock that POS up for good.

If torrin is the terrible person the article makes him out to be, then he should get a citation from a police officer. Not a damn thing in that article makes it appropriate for him to get run down by a guy with a deadly weapon.

Its amazing how people can say, "Well, because he maybe was rude once or twice in the past then its OK that someone tried to murder him on the street."

peace,
sam

No, it's a character assassin piece. It's designed to paint him as a hot-head who was prone to violent and unsafe interactions with motorists and that this was another incident in a pattern of dangerous behavior that had unforseen consequences for Torrin.

That's why they don't mention, for example, that he's setting up a charitable organization for other injured cyclists or that he's done rides for other charitable causes. That undermines the badass biker image they're trying to cultivate.

I'd be interested to know how that story came to be written.

it is interesting that they uncovered the piece he wrote here about smashing that BMW lady's cellphone. as justified as that may sound to you or me, it certainly isn't going to help him in court

that said, a hit and run is a hit and run. i hope arrigoni does all three f\_/cking years in prison. and pays everything he owns to torrin.

also: "Arrigoni is the son of former county supervisor Peter Arrigoni." no wonder they tried to let him off to begin with!

Given the legal proceedings, the ease of mining
information from the internet, and the precedent
being set of the attorney's reading posts here
I would caution everyone about what they post
about this situation.

sounds to me like torrin is in fact the instigator. and im guessing he wrecked due to his own fault. he probably tried to kick the car or grab onto the car himself and fell. look im not trying to cause problems for torrin. I just hate the way he portrays himself as being the victim of a hit and run. it was a hit and run yes but im sure torrin did the hitting and couldnt keep his balance. id keep driving too if a road raging cyclist was trying to beat on my vehicle too. but id drive to the police too as the guy did. anyways, i feel bad for torrin. but i have no doubt it was probably most of his fault. to torrin i say... practice safe road driving and quit causing problems by being a road raging cyclist. share the road.... WITH VEHICLES... they're dangerous.

BigBen250, you are not welcome here. No one is listening to your propaganda. You are obviously working for the road-raging jerk who tried to murder one of our friends and we are not buying your BS.
