Anyone with experience on a Wabi Lightning SE

I'm thinking about going for it. I just want to make sure it's going to be my absolute ****.

It'll be used for long rides.

Yep. Did 45 miles Saturday and a century on June 7. I do 50+mile group rides on it often depending on the weather and how I feel. I have done two previous centuries on it. The Wabi is as comfortable as my road bikes. You just have to shift with your legs :) climbing rollers and reasonable hills isn't a problem. Long headwind sections is a problem. If the wind is over 15 mph I grab a geared bike.

You can weight weenie that bike easy.

I don't have an SE, but I love my Classic. I've done several centuries on it and plan on a double this year. Only complaint is I wish there was just a little more tire clearance to run 32-33's.

And as much as I like my Classic, if I were buying today, I would probably go for the Special in blue with the chrome lugs.

Thanks for the info all.
bowzette- I plan on doing lots of great rides with it! (if I do buy it) GhostSS- That's definitely the plan. I'm aiming for sub 16, but we'll see. I won't sacrifice safety. palu- Why a special? Same tubing, only difference is the lugs. Or am I wrong? Also isn't it heavier than the classic?

The Lightning has a carbon fork with steel steerer tube. I think a significiant amount of the 1 lb difference is the fork. Whether you like a steel fork v carbon fork ride better is a consideration. Lugs are classic or in this case "Special"! The Classic is less expensive than either of the other models, can use wider tires, has fender and rear rack eyelets-probably the better buy but to my eye the Special is the looker.

Yes, slightly heavier due to lugs. Really, it's just for the "classic" look, as bowzette mentioned. Just personal preference. And a little bit of weight on the frame really doesn't slow you down, as it's just static weight. Wabi wheels are pretty light, which is where the weight really counts. But you'll be happy with any of the models they offer.
