Wheeeeeeeeeeeals!!!

I'm thinking about getting some new wheels. Why? Just because.

I currently have the stock wheels on my Masi, which are Weinmann rims attached some 'no name' hubs. They're perfectly fine and are currently serving me very well, and have been for quite some time, now. I just want something a little different in terms of aesthetics. I was thinking of something with a deeper profile. Having said that, I don't necessarily want to spend a whole lot of money on this petty whim. Let's say my budget is <$200, or thereabouts. I've been looking at various options on Velomine and it would seem everything in that price range is pretty much "six of one, half-dozen of the other."

So does anyone have any suggestions for a "meh" wheelset around $200?

C'mon, insist on better than "meh"... don't you deserve better? ;)

My quick suggestions...

Deep profile wheels: H Plus + Son SL42 POLISHED Silver Fixed Gear Wheelset MSW 32H [74529] - $199.00 Velomine.com : Worldwide Bicycle Shop, fixed gear track bike wheelsets campagnolo super record vintage bike

H Plus Son makes a good rim, and the Formula (in this case, branded as Origin8) hubs are pretty much the standard for quality, affordable hubs.

Not so deep but light as hell wheels: Wabi Cycles fixed gear wheels

For just a little over your budget, you'd be hard pressed to find anything lighter.

Just average, but I put a bunch of miles on them and they held up fine plus you'll have cash left over for a cog, freewheel, rim strips, or if you have all that stuff something else wheels: https://www.benscycle.com/p-2932-for...wheelset.aspx?

Had a set of these on a bike I built about two years ago, and they rolled smooth, stayed true, and did nothing wrong aside from not looking terribly cool. I may stop overthinking my current wheel search and just get another pair of 'em.

Hope that helps - good luck!
