You may need a new head.

well that is possible because the times im able to browse the forums im already drinking. Or maybe the waffle description is normal and ive never heard the term or seen what it looks like.

or ive seen it but not known what the description associated with it is.

or im drunk, was my friday now my day off.

You've got to be careful drinking before coming on the forum, you might start understanding Scrod. Worse still, in the bottom half of the bottle, you might start agreeing with ME

You two are hilarious. You keep the forum active which is cool.

I'm focusing on a felt tk3 now. Can't get them locally so I'll have to see if racycles would be willing to ship to my hotel room when I'm in the US later this month.

I'd get a Dolan over a leader or state any day of the week. Aluminum frame with crabon fork and the seat post won't even crack.

I vote for the Dolan too. Mine was nice and light, especially with the Wabi Wheels and it was a larger frame (60cm).

So, that means that the actual weight could vary by as much as 3 pounds by that method. Anyways, I weighed my 45cm Dolan Pre Cursa with an accurate digital scale, and it's 18.7 lbs, which is 1.2 lbs heavier than my Leader 721tr, so the Dolan is not particularly lightweight, although it certainly is much lighter than my old VISP frameset that it replaced. If you want something really light, find an old Bianchi Pista Concept frame with a Super Pista fork, and you could end up with a sub 17 lb bike including road bars with hooded brake levers and a front brake.

But does Dolan need two seat post binders to keep their seatposts from cracking?

IDK what you're talking about. I have a used Easton carbon seatpost I bought off fleabay in my Leader 721tr and never had any problems.

A light weight fixie is easy, Just open your wallet.

ketsana 07-05-14 03:40 PM

Ha. Will open it up on Monday.
Here are my 2 choices. None I've seen in person but the geometry is fine and I am prioritizing weight:
1) 2013 felt tk3 for 820
2) 2014 langster in black for 690

The tk3 I will need new standard drop bars and both bikes I will need some plastic pedals which accept straps. May consider those 2 sided spd pedals and ride on the platforms with random shoes when the commute calls for rain.

Which option would be lighter? One site said the langster is 20lbs and another said 17(7.8kg).
The felt is rated at 17.5 from felt.

Leaning towards the langster cause it's cheaper. I think Both bikes I will need to buy a ss cog as well.

sbs z31 07-05-14 04:59 PM

My stock 2013 52cm complete Langster Pro weigh 16.8lbs on my lbs scale.

GENESTARWIND 07-05-14 05:04 PM

Have the shop weigh them...

ketsana 07-05-14 07:19 PM

The langster, a dealer would have to order it in for me and I would pick it up when I'm in the states.
No local shops here can get the one I want which is just regular one in black.

JeremyLC 07-05-14 08:54 PM

I find it difficult to believe that they can't order it. (unless Specialized requires minimum quantities when oddering.) Anyway, I agree with the guys who suggested converting a road frame.

ketsana 07-05-14 10:54 PM

In Canada, there is only the langster street and pro (as frame only). Don't know why.

Batavus 07-06-14 01:00 PM

My Wabi Lightning 55 cm (the no longer made, sorry OP, scandium frame) weighs 13.7 pounds with a front brake and bottle cage. I used Novatec hubs (road front) to Kinlin XR 300's and bladed spokes (32R-28F) to build the wheels and a smattering of excellent price-to-weight ratio parts. The only downside is the torturous saddle that doesn't let me make rides longer than 40 miles.

ketsana 07-06-14 01:25 PM

Awesome weight. Must be fun as heck to ride around.
