Ingria bikes
Hey guys. I am a fixed-gear rider from Russia.
Lately I've started thinking about purchasing an aluminium track frame. I've looked through a lot of data and realised that bringing a leader or aveton from abroad can be pretty expensive (thanks to our customs service, huh). This is when I came across a neat frame-building workshop in St. Petersburg which focuses on building their own alloy frames. I've seen their frames before on the internet and from what I've seen, they seem to know what they're doing.

Honestly I think they both look sick. Never heard of them before though.

I checked out the Ingria site and based on the vague technical info, my first thought was that these were probably low end aluminum frames like you see on ebay for $150. But looking at the pics, they've got them dressed up with Miche cranks and other decent components, so maybe they're not so bad. Would be curious to hear from anyone who owns one. And fwiw, the Firestarter is definitely the better looking of the two.

I found this on LFGSS. The welds in those photos look awful. Those are from last year, so maye they've had the chance to improve since then.

About those welds.. Russian FG community is also kinda disgusted by them, but hey, they are learning (or at least I hope so). The bear logo is okay, a good artist can easily paint something in its mouth, a leg bone, car panel, Cossack sabre.
Unless the cost gets stupid, it's good to support a local industry. Russia has a long and successful record of small industries catering to sports or hobbies and in at least some, have grown from basic through to the extremely high tech (I'm thinking model aeroplane engines in particular). You may become part of something special. |
i wonder what rims they are using for their box section wheels.

Also agree with Europa. But why is the lettering on the frame not in Cyrillic?

I'd guess they went with English for broader appeal - if they want to expand outside of Russia, especially if they have an eye on the US market, English is probably the more safe/neutral choice. No disrespect to Russia, Drastry, just trying to think like a profit-minded business guy.

OT but just in case anyone cares ~ so i just picked up the frame from customs of almost one year of waiting. had to pay 140€ on top of the 500€ (+70€ shipping), frame came with a LOT of damages in the paint. overall i'm grateful that the wait is over but im still very disappointed in the paintjob, the handling and build quality. the paint is often rough, theres dust/dirt under the paint and the welding is some of the worst i have ever seen and it makes the tubing feel bumpy as ****. 2/10 wouldn't recommend http://oi43.tinypic.com/ffd4jl.jpg |

This frame was inspired by great track frames from Yuri Petrovich Samoylov. It has a unique geometry giving the shortest clearance between the frame and the front 700c wheel, which still allows to barspin. This is our most aggressive sprinter frame with tight wheelbase. Frame has head tube/down tube, down tube/seat tube and chainstay gussets to increase buckling capacity. |
Back from the dead, wondering if there's been any new info on these bikes?
For the price, they look like a killer frame, and I'm able to get better prices in shipping than the general public to and from overseas, so I'm curious about maybe picking up an Airpusher. Anyone around here have or seen one up close lately? |
