Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? rx-1's... anyone?

does anyone else have rx-1 pedals?? i just got in mks toe clips and it seems that the holes to attach the clips to the pedals are threaded and there isnt enough clearance on the other side to screw on a lock nut. i screwed the bolt in as tight as i could but it seems odd not to have something on the other end. maybe keirin racing saving weight? has anyone had problems with their clips coming loose with this set up and if so, how did you get around it?

i have a set of suntour superbe pedals, and a set of older zeus touring pedals that are both threaded like that. i just thread a nut on the other side, but i think i'd be fine if i didn't.

Bikes: steyr, lejeune, schwinn, sears, crescent, blah blah blah.

don't thread it on too tight or you'll strip out the alloy. screw it on firmly and then green loctite it. The green is meant to wick into the threads after tightening.

btw, this advice is right out my ass, I've never seen these pedals other than in pictures, I'm just basing this on what you've described.

Mine don't have any nuts on the backs either, and they hold on fine.
