Rattling noise on drivetrain, chainline perfectly straight
I'm hearing some noise from my drivetrain.
At first i suspected the chainline. Got a new crankset and got a perfect chainline. The noise is still there. No idea what it could be. The chain is from another bike that I had Crankset are sram omniums Rear cog is a all-city stainless 17t Will post video and pictures later today |
New drivetrain components are usually a little noisy, especially when using an old chain.
Also, your chain is probably too tight. |
Never use an old worn chain with a new chainring and cog.

"Neither do people put old chains on a new drivetrain. If they do, the chainring and cog will wear; the chain will rattle out and the ride will be ruined. No, they put new chains onto new drivetrains, and both are preserved." - Mt 9:17 (it's possible my translation is a tad different, however :P ) |
Does your chain have tight and loose spots? Your chainring might not be perfectly centered. I had a noisy drivetrain and then did this and it spins with relatively no noise. Also my components are not nearly as nice as yours.

What do you mean if its centered?
And if it isnt, how can i make it right? The chain isn't that old, bought it last march |
