best book for fixed/track maintenance?
well this might be a long shot, but does this exist? a book about maintenance/swapping/installation/cleaning track and fixed gear bikes? there was a thread before about a specific book that got me thinking that if this existed i could save a whole lotta dough on lbs work. or if not, is there an alternative to buying a normal bike maintenance book and having to weed through and interpret with a track mindset?
i might just be lazy, haha |
just buy a regular maintenance book and igore all the stuff about derailleurs and gears.

okay- any suggestions on which one? there's so many choices...
thanks for the help |
i just learned by taking stuff apart and then having to figure out how to put it back together. sheldonbrown.com is a great resource too, and it's free.

I don't know where you live, but if there are a lot of used book stores check 'em out. When I was in Chicago, I would always check the used book shops for bike repair books and I found at least one at every book store. The ones with diagrams are always nice.

You don't need a book for track bike maintenance.

Anything more advanced than that is most likely repair, not maintenance - pulling a BB, checking your wheel bearings - all the same as a regular bike. Of course, this doesn't really answer the question originally posed, persay. But it might be somewhat hard to find a book on bicycle repair and maintenance that is track-bike specific. |
