track nut size

what size is the typical track nut, i can't seem to find the perfect fitting wrench.

Rev.Chuck 04-04-05 08:57 AM

Mine are 15mm.

Ya Tu Sabes 04-04-05 09:02 AM

Yeah, 15 mm seems to be the norm, though I've seen a few that were 14 mm.

Cynikal 04-04-05 10:06 AM

15mm here as well

WTF? Why would an italian made hub have 9/16" nuts on it?

pitboss 04-04-05 10:20 AM

not sure - but the 15mm PB wrench is too big, so I use a 9/16 without fail.

onelesscar 04-04-05 10:25 AM

my miche primato have 14mm

Rev.Chuck 04-04-05 11:15 AM

9/16" = 14.2mm They are often interchangeable depending on tolerance 7/16" =11.1mm and 3/4" = 19mm For those times when you need one but have the other.

6mm hex wrench here :p

(but seriously, my Suzues and Superbe Pros both came with 15mm)

Because to most of the world, nutted axles are a throwback.
