I didn't even know I wanted a fixed-gear until a few days ago. I wasn't sure which model to get so I called Richard to get his opinion. He was also super helpful with sizing, gearing, etc.

I can't speak much for fixed because I haven't really given it a fair shot (I plan to though), but once I experienced single-speed on my Felt, I realized that it met my needs 95% of the time without the baggage and distraction of gears. I like it to the point that I want to build a great, dare I say; exquisite bike around the concept of simplicity. I love that when I hit a hill, I just reach deeper into my heart and attack it. It feels very satisfying. Congratulations on your new Wabi. I may not be far behind you. 'Just have to make-up my mind.

I commuted on a basso track bike in Chicago in the late 80s & early 90s, and I remember how much fun it was. Of course I didn't use brakes in those days which added quite a bit to the excitement. Now that I am older and wiser brakes seem like a really good idea.
