15/19 cog anyone?
i'm fixing up my old custom mtb with totally vertical dropouts (NO horizontal play). anyone in boston have a 15 or 19 tooth cog they could part with for a few days, so i can try them out and see if it will work without doing too much filing to my dropouts/axle? they seem to be the closest by far for my chainstay length with a 36 tooth chainring.
i don't feel like dropping 15-20 on a cog that i'll have no use for if it doesn't work (cause if it doesn't and i still want to do this, i'll probably be dropping quite a bit more on an eno hub), as i'm real short on funds these days! thanks! |
yeah i've got an extra 19 tooth soma cog, it's 1/8th if that matters

Even if you get it working, you'll probably get boned by chain stretch later down the road.
You know you want the ENO hub. Give in. |

i'm not setitng this up as a daily ride, i just want to set it up and see how i like it as a fixed gear. if i decide i like it, i'm going to need a new back wheel (i'm just using my old mavic hub/rim, and don't like the idea of extended brakeless riding wihtout a lockring), and will probably go for the eno. alexi - consider yourself pm'ed.
