got the khs flite 100... pics
 

so here it is. i had a lot of things upgraded right off the bat. thanks to scott at R+E cycles in seattle for swapping out parts and building it for me.
this is the 53 cm. i've got no complaints so far. it's definitely an entry level bike, but it's smooth and fast... and pretty.

upgrades are as follows:
suntour superbe pro 165 cranks and bottom bracket
sugino 75 46t chainring
nitto b123 aluminum bars
nitto 110 aluminum stem
serfas stinger saddle
vittoria tires
shimano brake

everything else stock.
the wheel set is the next thing to go.

I think that the seat makes sense for the pictures as the angle matches the angle of the headset/handlebars. I'd never ride it like that.
Of course the bottom of the drops line up with the toptube, so the seat could be lined up with that...

it was flat when i got it from the lbs. i eventually put at an angle for comfort reasons. to each their own i guess.

i do ride handless from time to time... it doesn't bother me. hmmm... i guess never gave much thought to it. it does look a little funny. when it was flat it felt "constricting".

i rode mtb for 6 or 7 years before getting this bike. i don't know if that has anything to do with it, but i had the saddle tilted on that bike as well.
the 53 frame is a tad too small for me too... that may or may not make a difference.

Why did you buy the frame if it was a bit too small? You just bought it new from an LBS, right?

If you're not racing with it, I'd try to exchange the frame for something a bit bigger. Your seat looks pretty high compared to the bars.

now you've all got me second guessing myself, i'll have to try riding flat again.

i wanted the khs over the other bikes at that price, they only come in 53 or 58 and i'm closer to a 53.

never give to peer pressure...if you and the boys are cool with it....ride it that way...i would just keep whatever it is you need to adjust it handy....

I've got the 53cm, and at 5'9 it's a tad too small for me. My seatpost is slightly lower than that though....a little bit annoyed that KHS only makes em in 4 sizes:50, 53,57, and 60. It's such a nice entry level bike that would sell a lot better if it were offered in more sizes, I think the number one complaint with the bike is that it's hard to achieve a perfect fit on them. and, of course, ride your bike the way you want to, if that saddle tilt makes you comfortable, do it. I personally think your lower back will be hurting after anything more than a 10mile ride.

I never quite woke up today. I spent all day sitting at home waiting for the UPS dude to show up. Bleah.

Oh well, two more deliveries and the mountain bike'll be ready to build up.

Gears, knobbies, brakes, and risers. The kids are gonna hate it.

...and excuse me for my ignorance, but wouldn't you just have been better off building up from the frame to start? Seems like the only thing you're not eventually swapping out is the pedals and straps!

i just got those wheels on another bike.. whys everyone down onn them? i kinda like them.. if for nothing else.. the lack of logos is great.. but i liked the ride too.. i also have some iros.. and..well they feel about the same to me

the shop i ordered it through let me swap parts out, so they essentially bought the stock components from me... on top of the deal they gave me on the original price. and they were all parts i was going to upgrade eventually. i wouldn't have done it this way otherwise.
i looked for vintage track frames for a while but i got anxious. i figured i have to start somewhere.
