First Fixed Wreck :)
Got a nice gentle reminder today...
First off I was riding like a kid (and I'm 47).
Going through a parking lot, I hopped a speed bump and the rear wheel didn't quite clear it and bounced at an ugly angle knocking the bike out from under me.
I tried to correct with my feet BMX style...but these pedals keep moving (oops).
I went forward over the bars and the bike went 45 degrees out from under me.
Crossed my arms over my chest/face before I hit.
Just got road rash on one elbow and one wrist.
One of my shoes got pulled off by the toe clips.
Nothing broken and no bike damage.
But not one I can hide from my wife
Gotta go back to riding like an old lady for a while.

Luckily that other shoe didn't come off or this would've been a memorial thread.
Glad you're fine.

1967 represent!
I tried to curb hop once, on my Bianchi Pista. Once.
Very close to wadding it as you did. Instead, I just got the top tube squaw in the nuts. Not sure who got the better deal.

Fresh Garbage
I did this on my MTB a while back. Nice 180 over the bar landing on my back with the bike crashibg down on me.

I looked marginally better than that.
But just strong and fast enough to be a danger to myself.

you fared better than myself. tuesday commuting home I caught a nice rut while sitting up no hands and cruising. tried to grab bars but my back wheel hit the rut first and bounced me out onto my face. thankfully more of a slid than a slam. sunglasses and helmet saved me from major road rash to 1/2 my face, but did give me a nice 2" cut above my eyebrow when the sunglasses snapped. 7 stitches later and I'm okay other than the stitches, a black eye, and some minor road rash. could have been better if I hadn't tried to save it, could have been worse if automobiles were involved.
crashes happen, it's life. if you don't want to crash don't ride your bike.
most importantly, bike is fine.
