Tire suggestions
Picked up a crew district from city grounds. It's my first single speed and I know it's entry level but I plan on doing some upgrades and proa my in winter going to a leader.
So far I ordered shimano 105 front brakes to replace the garbage fronts. Now I'm looking at tires. Any suggestions? I live in Chicago so very flat and pretty much urban weekend riding and commuting into work on paved roads. |
Gatorskins.

That fattest thing that will fit.

I just upgraded to Panaracer TServs and am quite happy with them. (I commute on pavement as well.)

T-Servs are very nice, as mentioned above. Pasela PT is also a great option at a bit lower cost. They don't have as much beef on the sidewall, but I think they're very similar otherwise.

I had my eye on this tire. It seemed popular with some people I work with. |
I'm on my second pair. Super reliable tires without the crappy feel of "bulletproof" tires like Gatorskins.

+2 on the Ribmos

ribmos, paselas, or gatorskins, all great tires.
the gators do feel a bit like wearing a diaper but unless you're used to riding on a race tire you probably won't notice it |
