Alright, I lived in Bogota for ten years until six months ago. There are two kinds of rides, in the city and out of it.

Inside Bogota you will find the largest above traffic bike path in latinamerica. However, like in most big cities, bike theft is a major issue. Carry your lock if you will be sightseeing by bike.

Outside the city there are several places specially for XCers and DHers. Going to Patios, (a mountain in the city) is like a sanctuary to most bikers in Bogota. There are also nearby places to ride like Facatativa, La Calera and Suesca.

If you need further information, PM me.

Cheers,,
Ricardo

Bike Touring in Bogota Colombia

Hi,

Bogota's not your ideal biking city - lots of traffic on many streets, and the drivers aren't exactly considerate. Still, if you know where to go, it can be a fun way to get to know the city.

As far as training rides, you need to go out of town. But be careful, parts of the hills and rural regions are notorious for crime - go with someone who knows the area.

That said, I have a bike rental business in Bogota's La Candelaria neighborhood. We're at 13-86 3rd Ave - near La Plaza del Chorro. Tel: 341-1027; Our website is www.bogotabiketours.com

me too :)

Hi! from Spain

Saludos!
