Alabama - Standard Deluxe Dirt Road Century - November 6th, 2016
Terra Firma Cycling is putting on their first dirt road century on November 6th of this year. The route starts out in Waverly, Alabama and goes through 60 miles or 100 miles of some of Alabama's finest dirt roads. Both routes have about a 80/20 ratio of dirt roads to pavement, so a cyclocross/gravel bike or a mountain bike with skinnier tires is suggested. The ride will have a fueling stations, but we encourage you to be as self supported as you can!
More information can be found at Standard Deluxe Dirt Road Century ? TerraFirma or you can comment/PM me and I can give you more information (though give me some time to reply).

I wanted to bump this as I'm attending and wanted to make sure this got out there as I only noticed when Gravel Cyclist linked on Facebook. This is a USAC event but you don't need a license to ride/race.

If it's not, I'm pretty sure you can do day of.
Probably Auburn/Opelika or Dadeville would be where I'd stay. Hotels are kinda crappy and overpriced but I guess that's kinda normal for small college-town Alabama. Sorry I don't have good suggestions, I used to just sleep on friend's floors when I visited but I was a lot younger then.

Just to give a conclusion: The event was well run; lots of good parking, scenic views and nice dry conditions with unseasonably warm weather. Staff/volunteers were friendly and the food/beverages were great. Keep any eye out for this one next year!

Glad you registered and came out to the event. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I don't really visit these forums consistently.
Thanks for helping Clarke33 in my absence, I would have hated for someone to miss the race because I didn't reply. Glad you liked the race! Mark and Colt did a great job of running the event, and we couldn't have asked for better weather. We're hoping that next year will be even bigger and better!
