Come join us for our 1st Annual Lake to Bay Ride. This casual ride will assemble to register and begin at the North Apopka Trail Head of the Withlacoochee State Trail at the Suncoast Bicycle Shop. From there, riders will cruise through scenic downtown Crystal River to City Hall Park. While there, cyclists can take advantage of great specials at the restaurants and pubs of Heritage Village and downtown. Riders will then journey back to catch the Taste of Inverness festivities at Liberty Park. Total distance: 40 miles round-trip. There will be a SAG stop at mile 16. Sounds like fun. I'm guessing the route will follow the trail north to Hernando and then west along CR486 to Crystal River.

Picked up my registration yesterday at inverness bike and fitness. I'm assuming you can fill out the reg/waiver day of also. Looking forward to this.

Not sure if my doc will let me do this since I'm having my heart cath on the 9th. He may want me off the bike for a few day while my wrist heals.

I work nights at UF/gainesville 4/11 other wise I was thinking I would try to ride in the "cycle for success" in Marion County 4/12. but that second ride might be doable.

Where do you find the rides? Ive always used active.com to find 5k's, and have signed on to do half's according to other friends plans.(Ie, Im signed up to do the Air force half again with a bestie). However, my friends dont ride bikes, and there doesn't seem to be many local rides on active.com

I found this one on facebook posted on a local cycling club page. Others ones I was handed flyers at a bike shot before group rides. I have a few sites bookmarked for what active doesn't pick up. I'll have to double check what they are.

Are you a GCC member? They list events too I believe, although they are prob the event hosts.

I'm definitely out of the ride. Had my heart cath yesterday and they put a stent in the LAD artery. The doc said no pressure or heavy lifting (>5 pounds) with my wrist for 7 days.

Definitely take it easy then Ron. I know there are a couple rides on May 10th. I think I'm going to do the Hernando one. I'm doing another 200k next month too (prob on the 24th).

nope not a member of anything, just started the group rides from the ocala store this past week.

dont push to soon or Ill be the one they send you to see when you have a blow out (I work on the vascular floor)

I'm riding Ocala tomorrow (gonna give B group a shot). It's at 6pm tomorrow instead of 5:30 I guess, per their fb page.

Thats what they said last week. I'd love to be able to ride, but am working tonight and tomorrow night at shands 7-7. No way for me to do it. Ill grab a quick run and ride again on tues. Carrie said she would ride with me on wend instead, so Ill join the wend group this week.
