Suburban Atlanta: "Cooper's Furnace" Sat July 30, 8:00 AM, 36.3 MPH, 15-16MPH
What: flat to rolling, 36.3 miles, 1756 feet elevation.
Where: Starts at Kennworth Park, Old Highway 41, Acworth, GA
When: Saturday, July 30 at 8:00 AM
This will be a flat to rolling 36.3 mile ride starting at Kennworth Park in Acworth, Cobb County. The route heads west past Allatoona Battlefield, through the beautiful area around Pumpkinvine Creek and along the Etowah River to Cooper's Furnace. The route has a few kickers and some grades but no big climbs. There will be opportunities for bathroom/water at mile 20 and a store stop at mile 25 with other stops as decided by the group. Pace is expected to be 15 to 16 MPH with regroups as needed. No one will get dropped or left behind.
The forecast calls for a low of 71° rising to a high of 90° with a chance of afternoon thunder. Heavy rain or thunder cancels the ride so check this thread the morning of the ride if the weather looks questionable.
Kennworth Park is located on Old Highway 41 in Acworth at the intersection of Nance Rd. Park in the first parking lot on your left. Bathrooms are located behind the handicap baseball field. If the parking lot is full then head towards the senior center in the back.
I hope to see you there.

Nice of you to shoot out an invite. I will be doing Critical Mass the night before, so probably still be asleep when you get rolling.
