Santa Fe Century and Horsefarm Century registration open

Gainesville Cycling Festival

I used the Horsefarm Century as a test for my preparedness for the Horrible Hundred last year. Good SAG support, beautiful scenery, a couple of roads that were paved by smoothing out parts that had fallen off cars (but looks like they've addressed that). Century Season is upon us.

I'll see how I'm progressing after the surgery I'm having on 8/24. If I'm up to it I may try the 32 or 55 mile route. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I'm pretty sure I know EXACTLY the patches of pavement you're talking about! The bit from Rochelle south is horrible. There's also a couple of bone-jarring stretches on the Santa Fe ride, which alas I will miss for the first time in several years.

If you can do either or both of these rides they're fantastic! Siskel and Ebert (or their decomposed skeletonized corpses at any rate (Hey, it is almost Halloween!)) give them both !

Rode the Santa Fe on Saturday. I planned on doing the 68 loop, but missed a turn (I was not the only one) and ended up taking 241 to the end, heading east into Butler, then south...total for the ride was 81 miles.

I hooked up with some 21+ mph riders for the last 15 miles, so picked up the pace. Weather perfect and roads in excellent condition. The worst part of the ride was crossing 441 heading south. It was a real bear.
