40 Mile Mixed Pavement/Gravel Ride - Sat May 6 - Dallas, GA
A 40 mile mixed surface loop of some of the quietest and most scenic roads in Paulding County is planned for Saturday, May 6.
The route contains 7 gravel sectors totalling 9.7 miles. Gravel is mostly well groomed over packed dirt. The remaining 30.3 miles is over typical rolling Paulding County pavement and includes the climb up Braswell Mountain Rd. Store stops around mile 15 and again at mile 30 as decided by the group. There is an option to replace the Braswell Mountain climb with a more rugged 7 mile gravel/dirt sector through the Paulding WMA which will bring total mileage to just under 45. Both options are linked below.
Having been off the bike for much of the winter and spring I expect to ride at a very relaxed endurance pace not to exceed 15 MPH. Faster riders are welcome to ride off the front and nobody will get dropped or left behind.
The ride starts at Rambo Trailhead, Silver Comet Trail in Dallas, GA @ 9:00 AM. Heavy rain or thunder cancels the ride so check this thread if in doubt before heading out.
