Update on effort to connect the Silver Comet Trail to the Atlanta Beltline
Here's an article by Haisten Willis about the ongoing Connect the Comet effort. The Georgia legislature is negotiating a new contract with CSX, and possible use of the unused track to extend the Silver Comet Trail is one of the state's negotiating points. A meeting of Connect the Comet was held yesterday, and this article summarizes it.
One of the more interesting things touched on but not fleshed out in the article, is that in a Town Hall meeting in south Cobb Thursday night HD-39 Rep. Erica Thomas publicly invited Roberta Cook of Connect the Comet to sit in on an upcoming meeting she's having with a CSX rep.
