Three weeks, like in the last weekend of Sept? That'll be the next time I'll be there. My house is on 33rd St. I can't claim to have been going there quite as long as you. The early 90s is probably when I started going down there. Before that was going to the outerbanks.

I'll have to map out your route when I get my miles back up. I think it might be a little more than I'm ready for right now. It looks like it would be a good ride.

We are on 40th St. The route is about 37 miles. I do stop Shallotte for fluids, so it's not that bad.

It helps if your whip is Ti. Cheap, old Ti, but Ti nonetheless. I just rinse it off with water and relube. I keep it in a workroom while I'm down, but that doesn't keep it from the salt air. We have gone thru many beach cruisers that are left year round and ridden in the ocean and pretty much neglected. Those have about a 3 year life span.

Just a suggestion...What about taking the Ft. Fisher ferry? Once you're on the Southport side, you're in riding Nirvana! :D

Or drive over to Leland, park your car, and then ride south down Highway 133. There's a good bit of traffic till you get past the Mallory Creek housing development, but after that, you can relax and enjoy some nice rural countryside.

Hmmm, 37 is what I rode two weekends ago down there. Maybe I'll give your route a try this weekend.

I bring my bikes with me, won't leave them in the salt air long term.

The best laid plans...
Dr thinks I have pneumonia. I can go to the beach, but no riding.

Going to Wilmington tomorrow for a few weeks. Anyone interested in riding?
