Oooooh, so one can elect not to do the other parts? Hmm.... Cool. <pensive Vega look>

Wonder how badly I could abuse myself? 'Cause I likes me the rides that hurt.

Did I just say that out loud?

Me too. I like the long, fast, hilly kinds.

And yes you can do just the road races on most of these weekend races. That's all I've done.

Do you have the elevation profile for that race in Rock Hill, by chance?

I just noticed that Women's Cat 4 takes off 10 minutes after Men's Cat 5. Means it'd take me a while to drop you.

Rock Hill Bicycle Club has a nifty PDF
2950 feet o' climbin

Better get them legs and lungs ready.

edit: and if you want, I'll just put on a wig and we'll work together on this one.

You are too funny! I'd be happy if you'd work with me! Maybe we could go on a tandem!

Thanks for the linky.

Just found another race in May!

Oh man. I hope my wife and kids can still love a true racer type. I'm getting addicted.
Oh well, it's either racing or mushrooms.

Thanks.

I rode with warrenl on Sunday. Nice 22 miles.

The Gaston County Cyclists has rides just about every night of the week, I think. If I understood warrenl correctly, T and TH rides leave from North Gaston High School tennis court parking lot at 6pm. You ever go on these rides, bsma?

was thinkin' about it. i stopped by bike line and asked about rides. the mgr said that gaston was near me and a good group.

i'm still trying to get an hour in on the rollers without stopping ... a couple more weeks and i think i'll be able to manage a group ride of sorts.

When were you at Bike Line?! That's in my neighborhood. Literally.

Crap. If you can ride rollers for even half an hour, you're ready. Trust me. You're certainly ready to ride with Vega.

As much as I bike in my home town (Gaston) I've never riden with them as a group. I may need to do this one and a while this year.

LOL. I got lost trying to find Staples for some inkjet cartridges. Sadly, I put about sixty miles on the car that day. YIKES!

The group tonight Vega is not the main organized ride "crazy fast group". This is a little easier pace.

So does your group still leave from NGHS and is there a cue sheet? I gotta get me on the road in about 20 minutes if I hope to make it. <eyeballin' the sky cautiously>
I'm not even dressed yet, and I still need to pack up my car!

Vega, glad you made the ride. I need to remember to take photos before we leave the parking lot and/or when we get back.

Hope you had a great/fun ride.

Oh, baybuh, I had a blast!

Thanks for telling me about this ride. Those are some really nice folks to put up with me. I was so scared that I wouldn't be able to pull at all, or would cause someone to hit me and crash them out. I was so relieved that I could take a few turns, and give back. It was a challenge, but I have a lot of stuff in me that I need to work out, so it felt really good tonight to just stretch out my legs and push myself for a change. Much easier to do with one or more partners.

I actually thought about asking someone to take a few pics of us Foo's with my cameraphone when we got back, but then forgot about it while we were all chattin'.

I followed you almost to I-85 and managed to find a gas station. Thanks, if you were trying to show me where to go! Once again, traffic just moved on the way home.

<sniff, sniff> Yikies! I need a shower before my friends get back from their dinner tonight.

So, bsma, gonna ride with us sometime? You, too, sub! And CM, if ya want to ride down here sometime.

This Saturday, I'm thinkin' of either doing the 30-mile ride that leaves from Harrisburg Elementary School, or maybe scootin' up to Hicktown to ride with CM and her wild and crazy breakfast group.

I think what I really need this week are some fairly fast-paced rides that challenge me a bit, but then a few easy rides leadin' up to TT on Tuesday night so as to arrive fairly fresh.

Any thoughts on this strategy from you more experienced racers?
