Tour de Cure, Bradenton, FL in March

I just signed up to do the Tour de Cure for Diabetes.

This will be March 18, 2007 at Lakewood Ranch High School in Bradenton, FL.

My fellow co-worker and I formed a team and would be happy to have anyone join us. Team A & C. That's for Athena & Clydesdale. We're doing it for fun and elected to do just the 40 miler.

If interested in joining the team, click the link in my sig.

It'll be a fun ride for a great cause! I'd love to meet other BikeForum Members and thought this would be a win-win, meet up for a ride that for a good cause!

I just signed up too. Is there any advantage to joining a team? This will be my second event and I am going to shoot for a century. Where do you guys ride?

The biggest advantage is comraderie. Plus, you have other people looking out for each other.

We don't generally ride as a group, however, we are planning to do at least 4 "team" rides before the event. We have a few riders who are 'not' regular riders, so they'll be slower easier rides.

I try to ride with two other team members at least once a week (usually mountain bikes), but the Holiday schedules have been difficult lately.

I ride solo about 2 or 3 times a week, from my home in Sarasota (just off Palmer Blvd).

$25 to register, then you must raise $150.00 by the event.

I was told if you registered by Nov 30, it was free, after that, it was $25. Since I only found out about the event on the 30th, I quickly registered, but knowing that many people would read this after the 30th, I put the $25 amount.

I've pretty much raised my $150 minimum. So, I'm IN!

Our team has raised over $1,000 towards Diabetes Research. Whoo Hooo!

We have a team of five that have already reached the $150 mark. Plus one or two friends that are doing the ride as well.

If you're interested in joining the ride or our team let me know!
