Rent a decent road bike in RDU area?

I'm going to be in the Raleigh area later this summer, probably staying for a couple of weeks. I'm debating whether to ship my own bike or try to rent something there. If I can get hold of something semi-decent and rent it for a week or 2 that might be preferable to risking damage on my own bike (not to mention being without it while it's in transit).

Anybody have some suggestions for rental shops I can contact and talk it over with?

try Bicycle Chain for a rental

Just saw this thread.

Their Raleigh store is only a few miles from the airport on US-70, across from Unstead State Park. I know they have a rental program. Might be pricey.

Might be easier for out-of-towner to find than All-Star. I don't know if they have a rental program. If you have trouble finding out, PM me (its only 2 miles from my house & I go past there often). Sorry, I don't have All-Star bookmarked for an easy to attach link (address?).

Cool, thanks. I know right where that is. I'll check in with them.

Looks like my visit is going to be mid-August.
