Planning a summer vaction around NC and VA
I'm planning my vacation this year (if I get to finally take one) to ride around/through VA and NC. If I don't get all the time I want I'll just do NC Outer Banks.
Does anyone know where I can find some info for bike friendly motels?
Thanks

I've found all hotels to be bike friendly. I check in and then take my bike to the room. Never had anyone say anything. Have fun!

Where are you going to be in Virginia? Lots of different places to ride and types of riding. There seems to be a lot of info at the bikewalkvirginia site and a statewide bicycle route map. The list of routes at the virginia.org site look pretty decent and include one from Jamestwon/Williamsburg to Richmond. Several locations have published books for day rides as well. I'd also search the touring, long distance, and road bike forums for posts on various rides; including Blue Ridge Pkwy and Skyline Drive. Good luck!

You may also want to check out the east-coast Greenway. Never used it, never tried to figure out its course, but others apparently have; but it does go from up north to the OBX (or near).

Of more use may be the NC Bike Route map for BR #3. The print is small, though, and I find it near impossible to follow the maps. But the routes are marked with signage, although there are usually signs missing.
