I rode with my son and a friend of his who had stayed the night. My wife walked Niki the German Shepherd, so we all got some exercise. Only 13.1 miles, but I didn't hurt after we were done or last night at bed time. Now I need to slowly ramp back up and get my fitness back.

Linda, glad to hear you're back as well! I didn't need replacement, so I am better off than you. Hopefully the myriad other ailments I am afflicted with will stay away for a while.
That trail is one of our favorites. Really nice views. It's the Withlachochee Bay Trail. Hubby and I were there Sunday AM but we did the mb trail that goes east. What a view! It goes up to a really high hill overlooking a man made lake that used to be a limerock mining area. REally neat view. I will try to post pictures later.
Glad you are back to riding.

Yep... Went for a short rode today.... about 6.5 miles into that wind... and then 6 miles back with the wind ... and 1/2mile into the wind again .... LOL For a total of about 12.5 miles (on the mtb).. Didn't feel like walking or loading up the road bike to get to the pavement (I live in really sandy roads). Good ride.... BAD wind..........

Did the 6.5 mile post office ride today... Got my packages ready to go wrapped in 3 bags to keep the rain out (in case I got rained on). Sprinkled a little bit on the way there, not enough to get me wet though. Wind at my back all the way there I averaged almost 19mph with a bag hanging off my handle bars (on the MTB). Uggggg on the way back it was all i could do to average 12mph... DOH!! Stopped at a friends house on the way back to BS for a few..... It started to rain so, yep..... I got wet riding the last 1/2 mile to the house.... Nice ride though....

A short ride it better than no ride....

It was on the cool side today thanks to the crappy cold front that moved through on Saturday. I managed to do 29 miles.

50.3 miles today with perfect weather
Mileage this month 163
Mileage this yr. 1467
Over/under riding days this yr. vs last yr. +1
Over/under miles this year vs last year +144
32.6 miles average per ride this yr.
5532 miles needed to hit my 2011 goal of 7,000

Very good weather all day today 51* when I left and 73* when I got back. Met two friends at the San Sebastian Trail Head with the intentions of doing about 35 miles finished up with 50.3 turned out to be a very good ride. I haven't ridden since Thursday a week ago so the legs are a little tired. I am still ahead of last year by about 144 miles but I will loose mos of that over the next few days. I still have a shot at my goal of 700 miles this month but I will need some cooperation from the weatherman.

Did 35 miles today. The weather was awesome so Stone Mtn park was swamped with cars and pedestrians. I decided to forego the ride around the mountain and tried the stretch of Silver Hill Rd that runs between Stone Mtn (village) and Hugh Howell Road. What a workout.

Yep got out for a ride today. Me and a couple of friends rode over to another friends winery. They opened up a winery out here in the sticks in the middle of nowhere about a year ago. They bottle all kinds of fruit wine. They had a wine tasting today with live music. Met my mom, sister, nephew & his girlfriend there (they drove). GREAT weather for a ride & an outside wine tasting get together. Anyway their little winery is open to the public. We rode about 14 miles all together..... hung out for 2hrs in the middle of the ride.......

Here is a link if you would like to check it out... https://royalmanorwinery.com/ (they are in the process of getting a new better website up and running.)

Just a couple of the pictures of the wine shop/store. In the second pic you can see our bikes on the back of the van ...

I wasn't sure if I would ride today after yesterday's "hard" ride but the weather was too nice to pass up. I headed out of my neighborhood and was 3 blocks from my house when I saw a guy I'd never seen before rolling his bike down the driveway. I asked if he was headed for Stone Mountain. Sure enough he was. We rode together out to the mtn and back. He hasn't been doing that much riding this winter so he only wanted to do the ride out and one lap around the mtn. We still managed to do 27.5 miles.
First time I've had a riding companion in a while. It was nice having someone to ride and talk with.

Got a nice ride in on Saturday. Hubby and I took the mountain bikes down to the Half Moon Wildlife area between Wildwood and Inverness. Rode a total of about 11 miles, mostly on the shellrock road. We did venture down one of the side trails but it was more of a horse trail and too sandy. There were a couple of crossings with large grates that were a little intimidating. Hubby told me to just keep peddling and not to stop, so I did. He said if I hit them the wrong way the wheels could fall through. (Didn't want to hear that so just kept peddaling.)
Next time we go we're gonna start earlier so we can get to the end. According to the map, the trail goes down to Gum Slough and runs close to the Withlachochee River. Weather was great but I would imagine summertime would be an issue with mosquitos so we are gonna try to go again before it gets too hot.

Yep.... Got out for a ride today on the PLB trail. I have to say it was the SLOWEST 6 mile out ride I have ever taken on my road bike (and i'm slow anyway). Actually went to the trail with my friend that rides with me sometimes.... and his whole family. His wife, 8 year daughter & his 4 year old who rode on the bike with him. His 8 year old only learned how to ride a bike about 3 weeks ago, so she did AWESOME. We all rode to the park/trail head by Keystone. Mom and the kids stayed at the park while we rode back to the van to come pick them up. The ride back was a bit faster. It was the first time on the trail for his wife and both daughters...... They REALLY liked it. He is talking about getting better bikes & gear now for the family... The trail is really getting a LOT of use for only being open a short time.... There were a LOT of people out today, the most I have seen on the trail so far. I really hope they pave the next 4 miles as planned in 2011... Ohh we rode about 12 miles total.

SloSpoke ..... I hope your wife is on the mend and every thing is getting better...

Linda... I'm really trying to con my 2 friends into doing more mountain bike riding... LOTS of trails I wanna check out... but not by myself... Trying to get them to do the Florida trail from SR20 to just north of the barge canal on SR19 south of Palatka. They just mowed the trail, not many bugs yet.... and not too hot.... I'm working on them... I think I'm wearing them down... LOL

Thanks zz... She is going to be fine, we are hoping that 1. it is not cancerous 2. that they can treat it with medication and not have to operate. Either way I think she will be OK.

Well both friends bailed on my today. But I still managed to get out for a short ride after I got caught up. Rode to the post office + a bit more on the mountain bike. Ended up riding 12.68 miles. I knew I was not going to ride that long or far today so pushed a bit harder than usual. Actually seen another rider out today (not just a kid on a bike or somthing).

Great weather again....

My ride today was fantastic.
70.6 miles today with perfect weather
Mileage this month 269
Mileage this yr. 1574
Over/under riding days this yr. vs last yr. +1
Over/under miles this year vs last year +150
34 miles average per ride this yr.
45 miles average per ride this month
5425 miles needed to hit my 2011 goal of 7,000

Very good weather all day today 57* when I left and 77* when I got back. Met two friends at the San Sebastian Trail Head with the intentions of doing about 35 miles finished up with 70.6 turned out to be a very good ride. I am still ahead of last year by about 150 miles but I will loose most of that over the next few days. I still have a shot at my goal of 700 miles this month but 600 miles would be a more realistic goal and I will need some cooperation from the weatherman.

Wow...... 70.6 nice. I don't think I have ever over shot my intentions by that much......EVER lol

Yep I did manage to get out for a ride today.... 4 days in a row now (mostly short rides). Rode from Palatka down sr19 to the barge canal & then back to the BIG town of Interlachen where I live. Awesome weather for a ride again for sure. About 5 miles from home the wind did an abrupt about face (into my face).. Looked at it as a challenge today... Ended up riding 23.79 miles.. Took a few pictures i'll add them later.

My ride today was short.
12.0 miles today with perfect weather
Mileage this month 281
Mileage this yr. 1586
Over/under riding days this yr. vs. last yr. +2
Over/under miles this year vs. last year +161
33 miles average per ride this yr.
40 miles average per ride this month
5413 miles needed to hit my 2011 goal of 7,000

Very good weather today, 69⁰ when I left and 76⁰ when I got back. Rode to the bank to renew some IRAs which are paying nothing right now, then to the bike shop to get a bottle cage bolt drilled out that I had break when I was cleaning the bike on Monday . I still have a shot at my goal of 700 miles this month but 600 miles would be a more realistic goal and I will need some cooperation from the weatherman.

Yep, Decided to ride the mountain bike because I didn't feel like dealing with the wind today. Got dropped off at the Florida Trail entrance on SR20. Rode south for about 4 miles and back to the road. I was going to ride home but.... riding the mountain bike into the wind on the road got the better of me today. Called for a ride to meet me at the post office about 4 mile from home. Wasn't really feeling that good today (even before I went for a ride). NO energy.... But wanted to go ride a lil bit anyway... 5 days in a row now Ended up riding a bit under 8 miles on the trails and a bit over 3 miles on the road (into the wind....doh)... 11 mile ride total.

Yep, Got out for a short ride today..... Post office + ride... Rode to the post office & then to tire shop with a friend. Only rode about 10.5 miles, but a short ride is better than no ride. Rode the mountain bike. Just a few pictures from the past few days.

1st one is the exit/entrance to the Florida trail on SR19 south of Palatka a bit before the barge canal. I was on the road bike that day didn't actually ride the trail (still trying to con 2 friends into it... figured a picture might help. Didn't show them the picture yet.. DOH!)

2nd pic.... Just a shot of the Florida trail that enters some private land. I had to walk about 1/2 mile in sand that they had just plowed for a fire break (I think). Through the fence looks like good riding again.

3rd pic.... On the road back from the barge canal on SR19... I guess that's how they fix low lines now....

Over/under riding days this yr. vs. last yr. +2
Over/under miles this year vs. last year +195

Very good weather today, 57⁰F when I left and 82⁰F when I got back. Rode the length of the Seminole Wekiva Trail and back plus some road riding with a friend. We rode north of SR46 into some beautiful horse farm country. I am going to do the same ride tomorrow os Sunday and take the camera. I still have a shot at my goal of 700 miles this month but 600 miles would be a more realistic goal and I will need some cooperation from the weatherman. The wind was my friend again today, it was nowhere to be found.

My ride today was great. We are having perfect weather
36 miles today
Mileage this month 405
Mileage this year 1709
Over/under riding days this year vs. last year +2 days
Over/under miles this year vs. last year +209 miles
33 miles average per ride this year
40 miles average per ride this month (best ever)
5290 miles needed to hit my 2011 goal of 7,000

Great weather today, 60⁰F when I left home and 80⁰F when I got back. Rode the length of the Seminole Wekiva Trail (26 miles) and back plus some road riding with a group of Florida Free Wheelers. I still have a shot at my goal of 700 miles this month but 600 miles would be a more realistic goal and I will need some cooperation from the weatherman. The wind was my friend again today, it was nowhere to be found. It was only 6 to 8 mph from the NNW. I think this was the most people that I have seen on the roads and trails this year. The weather is really bringing them out.

I showed up for the group ride this morning, the fog was really bad... by 7:30 it had thinned a little, but the 15 or so "fast" guys didn't want to ride in it. So me and 3 other guys with lights and touring bikes put in 36 miles, actually averaged about 14+ MPH, which is good for my mountain bike and my friend's 26" Surly LHT. I saw this moth when we were leaving:
