Rained most of the day here in central FL., temp in the low 50s all day so the daughter and I didn't get out until about 4 this afternoon. Stopped at Panera Bread for coffee and then rode most of the way home in the dark.

COLD COLD DAY here in central FL., temp in the mid 40s all day, so the daughter and I only got out for 25 miles this afternoon. Stopped at Applebees in Heathro for a cold Sam Adams (2), and chips and dip and watched the Buc's loose to Atlanta, and then rode home before dark. Tomorrow is supposed to be colder so I think I will stay in by the fire.

I wussed because of forecasted low-sub 30's from 0630-1130, and not to forget the windchill.
I need to set up my garage with my trainer/rollers. Felt odd not riding today.
And of course I know there are places that get it worse than we do.

Frostbite warnings on the morning news but it was above freezing and mostly sunny downtown?? When I was a kid, it had to go to negative numbers before anyone noticed. I skied in colder conditions Saturday. If it's not too cold for downhill skiing, it's not too cold for biking. Biker generated more heat and experiences less wind chill. The roads were dry and I was comfortable in two base layers and a windbreaker.

Fourth morning with a freeze and more to come. It may even get creep out of the 40's by thursday before hitting us for round 2 for the rest of the week.

I have not ridden since before Christmas! Besides the cold (for me anyway!), I got sick a few days before Christmas and have not gotten over it yet. Finally broke down and went to the doctor today, hopefully all the drugs will get me back to normal (or what passes for normal in my case!). The thing that really ticks me off is that I never made 3,000 miles, I only needed a few days of riding to do it! GRRRRR!

Temp in the low 50s today, so I got out for 29+ miles this afternoon. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer so I think I will try to get in a long ride day. Interesting ride today, on my return ride I started to see police cars at all of the intersection then 2 helicopters started buzzing overhead, one police one TV channel, then police cars were driving up and down the bike trail. I stopped at the county softball complex to see what was going on and was informed that someone was in the area with an assault rifle. Don't know if that was true but there sure was a lot of police activity in the area. Rode on home and didn't get shot.
