Got a late start (9:15) this morning. Did my usual ride from home to Hernando to the north end of the trail and then home for a total of 35.8 miles. It was HOT by the time I got home shortly after noon.

Great ride with the Posse today. Roscoe, Rich, Ralph, Janelle, and Mike, headed out from the trail head at 8:00 am with humidity that you could drink. Did the usual thru Mandarin then on to Panera Bread for coffee. After coffee we headed north on International to Wayside and into a NW wind. Our average for the 17.3 mile loop from PB to PB was 15.6 mph. The Garmin temp hit 98.5 degrees and it felt like every bit of that, but what can you expect it is Florida isn't it?

Good ride everyone, great group.

We had some really heavy hitters riding with us today. Ben Tomblin joined us on his recumbent (Ben we really enjoyed your company and stories about RAAM), Rich was on his single speed bike and he is still fast), Eric road his mountain bike (he is training for the ride across Iowa in 3 weeks), and Robert Klein was back on his bike after just having surgery, it was good to see you Robert. John Burke just turned 75. John I hope you can ride another 75 years, us old guys can still do it but we are a little slower. Ralph and Sandy met us at Panera Bread for coffee along with Tom and Renae two more speed demons.

The feels like temp was 102 degrees today and I must say I am really feeling it.

Our 21 mile loop from PB and back to PB we averaged 16.7 mph.

Today was a good ride thanks everyone.

Got another late start this morning (~9:15). Rode to Hernando and headed north on the trail. Decided to get water and turn around at the Citrus Springs trailhead. As I was headed south I had to stop at Holder for traffic when crossing CR491. No surprise there, its always busy. Anyway after the traffic cleared I crossed the road. There were two other cyclists on the other side waiting. They were wearing white t-shirts, gym shorts, sneakers (that was a dead giveaway ) and riding hybrids. They commented as we passed in the middle of the road that, "you'd think the cars would stop for us." I said, "no, they don't have a stop sign -- we do!!" I guess when they're in their cars they expect traffic on the main road (with no stop sign) to stop so they can turn out of a side street (where there is a stop sign). I'm sure my comment went right over their heads.

Stopped by Inverness Bicycle and Fitness to get a mirror for my other helmet then headed home. On my way home (headed west along CR486) I noticed that my BC1909 was coming apart. Did the hot Florida sun do this? This is the 3rd BC1909 I've had. The other two came apart after I dropped them. This one was ok when I started my ride. Should I get another one or get a Wahoo TICKR chest strap and use it with my bike computer app on my iPhone? What to do???

Anyway I rode a total 37.5 miles.

Another hot ride this morning. Met Bill and Roscoe at the trail head and headed for Panera Bread at an easy pace,at about the 3 mile mark Roscoe had to turn around due to really feeling bad, actually I think he wanted to go home and mow the grass. Bill and I continued on and picked up Rob at PB after coffee. Today's PB to PB segment was only 13 miles with an average of 15.6 mph, it could have been faster but we took a leisure ride thru Heathrow. Our Garmin's registered temps of over 98 degrees and it felt like every bit of that. It was good to see Bill again and it is a pleasure to ride with Rob. Good ride everybody. Roscoe I hope you got your lawn mowed.

^^^ Glad you're still riding and kudos on the weight loss.

Made a small adjustment to the saddle position on my Cannondale before heading out on my usual route this morning. Started at 8:30 and took my Camelbak. Did much better.
Rode 38.5 miles.

Just finished up a 191 mile ride from Weirton, WV to Cumberland, MD on the Panhandle, Montour and GAP trails with the Rails to Trails Greenway Sojourn. Uphill all the way except for a nice 25 mile downhill from the eastern continental divide to Cumberland. Another item crossed off the Bucket List.

Congratulations on completing the ride Sue. Looks like you had a great ride.
Did the climbing give you and problems?

Another day with the feels like temps in the mid to high 90s. We have a storm off the coast of Florida so it might mess up riding for a few days. Hopefully it will clear out of here and will not mess with our rides.

Uphill for 175 miles through crushed limestone that was thick and felt like sand at times. It was hard (for me - being old and overweight) but others flew by me without difficulty.

Great FFW ride from Tremble Park in Mt. Dora this morning. Very hot and humid but the rain held off and the food was great as always. Rode with the C group which had to be pretty close to 50 riders and was lead by Nancy who did her usual superb job. Mike O did his usual great job of preparing lunch for everyone as they returned from either a 25, 21, or 55 mile ride.

John,

Fun videos (looked at them all) to watch. I was long-gone on the uphill from the campground at Meyersdale to the GAP by the time you took the video. Actually, I was the third person into Cumberland - two young women were ahead of me. You did get the back of my head at the lasagna dinner. Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet - perhaps next 'big' adventure.

Finally got out today after a busy non-cycling week last week. It was "cool" this morning as I was leaving the house. I guess the rain and clouds to the south kept it "comfortable" for the first half of my ride.
Did my usual ride from home to the north end of the Withlacoochee and back. Total of 35.8 miles.

Road rash is a precious gift. Road rash is your friend. Bask in it, appreciate it, love it. Above all, learn from it. --Robert Hurst... Today i made friends with road rash. Had a nice ride with Ralph, Bob and Mark. We decided to ride the trail back from the north end of our ride so we were just taking things pretty easy until we tried to fit to many people into to small of an area. Long story short some rash on my left knee and left elbow one glove destroyed a cut on the bridge of my nose and a lot of hurt pride. it was hot and humid but no rain so all is well in my world. Mark I hope i didn't scare you off, I hope you will ride with us again soon.

Easy ride to PB this morning with Bob, Mike Brenda, Carl, Ralph, and Roscoe. After coffee Roscoe and I returned home and the rest of the group went on. I should be back to normal mileage by Saturday.

I finally had an appointment-free and rain-free day so headed out this morning. Did my usual 35.8 miles from home to the north end of the Withlacoochee and back. Tried out my new ROX 5.0 (free replacement for my broken BC1909) and got MUCH more data than I really need but I like it.

Super ride with Bob, Janelle, Ralph and Mark this morning. Bob, Janelle and I met at the tralihead and did the Mandarin loop before going to Panera Bread and meeting Mark, Ralph and Sandy. After a brief stop to refuel Sandy headed for home and the remainder of us finished the longer ride. Our average for the 19 mile segment from PB and back to PB was 15.97 mph. We did have a good push as long as we were riding north but unfortunately some times you have to turn around and ride back. The feels like temps hit a 100 degrees with high humidity. Good ride everybody.
