I'm in, driving down from NoVA. I'm not crazy about an out-and-back, but it should be pleasant.

Have you done this ride before? If so, then can you give an idea about the terrain (i.e. how flat or rolling?)...

Sorry this will be the first time. I think they just finished the trail last year. I wouldn't think it would be very hilly in that area, but I really don't know.

Capitol to Capitol
This ride is from Williamsburg to Richmond mainly along route 5. The ride is mainly flat to some low rolling hills, with the part from Charles City (mid point lunch stop) to Williamsburg nearly all flat. The trail is only finished in several short sections, and I would only ride on the trail if you are going slow or a casual rider. If you intend to ride a fast pace or in a line with other faster bikes then you should plan on keeping to the road. Food at the rest stops is usually pretty good, and the registration money supports the capitol to capitol trail foundation, an organization that helps to promote and fund the entire length of the trail. I'll probably be riding a portion, if not the entire thing to Richmond and back.
