Crowders Mountain Metric
 

I met a BF'er. I cannot, for the life of me, remember who it was. He was nice enough to introduce himself and I was dumb enough to forget.

Not I.

I did consider going, but I was unpacking crap all day from our move on Sunday. I did hit my first local ride....CBC Saturday 7 AM ride.

Decent - 36 miles w/ the main 27 mile effort at 24.5 mph average. Did more than my fair share of the work until my computer popped off 2/3 of the way through and then I had to TT back to the group. Felt like crap after that.

Was there with my 50+ forum jersey. Black Guru Carbonio Ti with white DT Swiss Mon Chasserral wheels... know JPrice (Club member)

It was me! :) I enjoyed meeting you again, I am not stalking you! I got to hang with the big group till Clover and it busted up crossing 321. Had fun and got a little wet!

I tried splitting the field a little early. Went off the front with a Carolina Masters guy. But everyone gave chase. There were only 8 of us left at the end. Two up the road and 6 of us chasing. I was 3rd in for the metric.

My teammate wanted to try some team tactics. We had three in the chase. So before we made the turn into Crowders Mountain he shot off the front to see if others would chase him. Then I was suppose to attack over Pinnacle road. Yikes!

Lo and Behold they gave chase. I sat in trying to muster enough courage to attack (heck, we both just did 101 miles the day before up through Rutherford County). At the bottom of the climb we caught him and one of the guys stood to hammer up the climb. But I got over first and sped away in the distance. I came in a minute before the others. Twas fun - but very painful.

Then we had to bike home.
