I will most likely do this one. Close enough to home. Should be fun.

^yea, I was going to do the Bham century, but my GF wants to ride and the shortest ride for her to do in Bham is like 48 miles. She rides a mountain bike and pulls a kid cart behind her with her son in it. 48 miles is a bit much for her. 25 miles is doable.

If someone would post a report on this event after it's done I'd appreciate it. I'm very curious as to how it turns out.

I'll post afterward. The problem with this event in the past has been lack of publicity and that it's put on by non-cyclists who don't have a clue.

yea, not a lot of publicity at all. It isn't even on the Tuscaloosa bike club website--and they have stuff from everywhere in Alabama on their site.

I heard about it somewhere and it took me a while to find any info about it on line doing google searches.

I can't help much, but I might be able to help a little. Call Elane Jones at the Daily Mountain Eagle and ask her to do a story about it. If they've got the space to print something, they'll give you a blurb.

Thanks, I'll do that. I'm a one-man publicity committee and I'm not even a member of the club. I just sent it to the Tuscaloosa webmaster.

Is the 25 mile fun ride---is that hilly or fairly flat? My GF is kind of freaked out she is going to be pulling her son up a hill in his cart for all 25 miles.

AMJF:

I just talked to the ride director who told me they are postponing due to weather. They are rescheduling it for May 15th. They have usually had this event in the spring. Last spring we had around 40-50 riders, many from BHam. As for the terrain there are no hills on the 25 mile ride, but the country does roll a bit. I'll still post the route later. Glad you thought about us. PS: I tried to send this to the Druid City Club site but it came back.

Are they refunding amounts, or are they just holding them over until the May ride?

That sucks it is being postponed, but I understand. The weather has sucked for the last few weeks.

Come out and ride in the rain - the BBC Mtn Goat is still on. You can catch me at Rest Stop #1. If it's raining I'll be in a blue poncho. If not, just look for the 50 y/o guy.
